Last Saturday even with the torrential downpour which filled Ravinia’s grassy parking lot and beautiful lawn seats, the Chicago Symphony Choruses’s performance of Mahler’s 2nd Symphony went on! Thank goodness it did because James Levine was conducting and he was amazing with the chorus and symphony. He got sound out of us that was absolutely thrilling! This was a legendary night for me. Even though I was soaked waist down for the entire performance, I’m so glad there was a pavilion so that the audience there could still be there and the show could go on, for what a show it was! Thank you James Levine! I loved singing for you. You were an absolute delight to perform for and with! I’m glad I got to perform under your baton, even if it is just this once in my career! I’ll never forget that legendary night!
