I right away want to say that when Sheridan became Rachel’s student he advanced on AGT (America’s Got Talent) competition and won 2nd place at the International Hall Leonard Competition! It tells a lot! Doesn’t it? Here is more. Rachel does the best warm up! Sheridan was able easily to sing for 1 hour and his voice wasn’t getting tired! It is a very important aspect for any singer! Rachel always gives very precise attention to the quality of the voice, making sure that the vocal cords and all other parts that are involved in sound production are relaxed and don’t have any tension! She will fix the vibrato. And with her, Sheridan learns repertoire fast and in a timely manner. And last, but not least, she gives the right amount of attention to dynamics and the staging of the performance! In a nice, easy and very understandable manner she explains and will show herself (how to do it) – the emotional delivery of the musical piece. She is so creative and brilliant at that as well. She is a Ray of Light in anyone’s singing career!

Before I began taking voice lessons with Rachel, I had zero faith in my vocal ability, and I had extreme difficulty even speaking up in class at school. Rachel’s nurturing yet challenging and engaging method of teaching has helped me to free my voice and gain a solid technical foundation that helps me to sing out with passion. I am an adult musician (guitar and harmonica) and recently starting working with Rachel on my voice. She is an incredibly warm, giving and expert teacher. It’s amazing how much progress I’ve made in just a few months. I highly recommend her.

I sang in Nashville with the Symphony Chorus and the Opera Chorus for a number of years, but I had not sung for almost two years when we moved here after retiring.. Rachel got my voice into great shape, and I was able to sing in a local group for two more years. Her constant encouragement and her excellent teaching methods were wonderful for me. I’m a chorus singer, and for me, the crucial things are breathing, pitch and an even tessatura are breathing are crucial. She helped me improve in each of these areas.
I particularly appreciated the help on breathing, because as I got older, that got harder. In fact, difficulty singing longer lines led to my retirement from opera chorus. Her advice and coaching on breathing were especially smart and helpful.
I very much appreciated the way she listened to my concerns about my voice. As an example, it was clear that I would not be able to sing at the same volume I did in opera chorus and even Symphony Chorus and preserve an even tessitura. She helped me come to grips with this new and unwelcome limitation, and made it possible for me to enjoy singing with my new friends, even if not quite like I once did. That means a great deal to me.

Every time my daughter goes to Rachel’s lessons, we don’t even feel how the time flies by. Rachel is fun, easy to follow and a definite hard worker. The money we pay, we really know that she is worth every penny. I see her deep passion for music, knowledge, and her wish to get whatever is possible from her students. Rachel’s continuous positive outlook gives the student strength and trust. She dedicates herself to the maximum, and shares her happiness about her student’s accomplishments. Amazing voice teacher who helped me with my major fear of singing! She always gives such great feedback. She records all the lessons and emails the lesson to you so you can hear what you did in the lesson which is very helpful!

I’ve been in the entertainment business for over 25 years working for the likes of Warner Bros, TNT, Universal, HBO, USA Cable- to name a few – producing, writing and directing over 20 films. I know the real thing when I see it. When my daughter wanted to explore her vocal talent- I said- you need someone not only fluid in theory but in professional application-(working knowledge) then we found Rachel. Not only a talented “working opera singer” who is in the “now” but someone who knows how to apply her talent and professional experience in a structured – one on one- teaching environment. My daughter is Juliette- she is a much better singer because Rachel knows how the apply her inherent understanding of the craft and couple it with her real, professional experience.

I have been taking voice lessons from Rachel Olson for quite some time. Even though she was not my first voice teacher, I have always felt that she was the first to teach me “the true language” of singing. She has a way of teaching both visually and mentally, something that I believe to be difficult since it isn’t something I have found in other teachers. How I have loved taking singing lessons from Rachel! I love her emphasis on breath control from the get go and how she believes that fundamental element should be as natural as…breathing. Ha! Some of my friends who sing ask me how she teaches that and it just isn’t a one time lesson, but something she is teaching at every moment of every lesson.
